I see pictures like this, and I wonder how mentally tormented the person was to do this to themselves. Depression is a very horrid thing, and totally downplayed by those who have not gone through it. Phrases like, “just smile and be happy”, or “things will get better” are usually said by ignorant people that have had everything fall into their lap their entire lives.

depression isn’t the whole “im sad and i wanna die” it is more of a “i’m done with life”. i hope i never get to that point. to be completely uninterested in continuing on would be too much
speaking as one who knows, one who takes anti-depressants, depression is the inability to cope…the feeling of utter helplessness…it is the most frightening place i have ever been. thanks to God, good doctors, and great meds i’m not there any more…but at one time this didn’t look that bad to me….
