what fasicnates me is the abilty to see with or without empathy, the surgeon casually describes whats going to take place to the terrified patient for example, (it could well be us).
Empathy or feeling what it must be like, subjectivly viewing the gore makes it much worse, there is a psychological need to remove oneself from any notion that this could happen to myself. this is often expressed in derogetory or condescending speech upon the subjects, a mind defence to lessen the person and thus not need to empathise as being on the same level as myself. a need to de personalise. are all signs of repressed subjective identification.
Not necessarily. sometimes you simply seen so much you can not see anything but what is on the pictures.
